Now Live: RFI Management, Submittal Tracking, and Punch Lists

Three of the most-requested features on our roadmap are now live for every Professional and Enterprise plan: RFI Management, Submittal Tracking, and Punch Lists. Together with Drawing Sets and AI Submittal Review, they turn ArchiveView from a document system into a full construction project workspace — where the paperwork lives with the drawings it's about.

You'll find all of them under the new Project Tools menu in the app.

Why build these into a document system?

Because that's where the answers are. An RFI is a question about a sheet. A submittal gets approved against a spec. A punch item is a defect at a location on a plan. Standalone trackers force you to bounce between an inbox, a spreadsheet, and your drawing viewer — and the resolution ends up recorded nowhere near the documents it changed.

In ArchiveView, each workflow item attaches the exact sheets and files it concerns, and the outcome stays with your record set.

RFI Management

A central, numbered RFI log (RFI-001, RFI-002, ...) that never has gaps:

• Ball-in-court tracking — every RFI shows whose action is pending: the assignee while open, the author once it's answered
• Owners and due dates at creation, with overdue highlighting and an average-response-time metric on the log
• Assign to anyone — org members or external parties (your architect or engineer) get notified by email
• The answer lives on the record — answered by whom, when, with the referenced sheets attached
• PDF export for the formal record

Submittal Tracking

A proper submittal register — not review packages, but the log of every item you owe and where it stands:

• Numbered items with spec sections (CSI division plus the exact section code, e.g. 09 91 23)
• The full approval workflow: open → under review → approved, approved as noted, revise & resubmit, or rejected — with automatic revision numbering on every resubmission cycle
• Routing between the contractor and your reviewer with email hand-offs at each step
• One-click AI review: launch an AI Submittal Review straight from a register item, pre-loaded with its submission documents. When the review's result is recorded, the register item updates automatically — approved items land in the record with no double entry
• The Approved Record — one filter shows everything accepted on the project, documents attached
• Log export to PDF — the classic submittal log sheet, generated from live data

Punch Lists

Built for the speed of a real walkthrough:

• Log items fast — title, location ("Bldg A / Level 2 / Rm 214"), trade, priority, photo, done. No draft step, no ceremony
• Verified completion — the responsible party marks an item complete, and it only closes when your team inspects and verifies it. Failed inspection? Reject with a reason that's emailed to the assignee and pinned to the item
• Trade filtering — filter to one contractor's items and export a PDF punch list to hand them
• Priorities and overdue tracking so safety items don't hide behind cosmetic ones

All three features (plus Drawing Sets and AI Submittal Review) are included in the Professional plan — flat-rate, no per-user fees, so your subs and field teams can actually use them.
