Now Live: Offline Mode — Your Drawings, With or Without Signal

Cloud document management has one embarrassing failure mode: the cloud. Basements, mechanical rooms, elevator shafts, half-built cores, rural sites — the places you most need a drawing are precisely the places your tablet shows zero bars.

As of today, ArchiveView works there too. Offline mode is live for every plan, and it does two things:

1. Your recent documents follow you automatically

Every PDF or image you open in the viewer is saved to your device — no setup, no button. If you reviewed the Level 2 electrical plan at your desk this morning, it's on your tablet in the field this afternoon, connection or not. ArchiveView keeps your 25 most recently viewed documents ready.

2. Save a whole drawing set before you head out

For planned site visits, don't rely on what you happened to open — take the entire current set:

1. Open Project Tools → Drawing Sets
2. Click Save offline on the set you need
3. Watch the sheet counter finish (a 40-sheet set typically takes under a minute on office Wi‑Fi)

Saved sets are pinned: every sheet stays on your device until you remove it yourself. When you lose connection, an amber banner appears with a one-tap shortcut to everything stored on your device, under Project Tools → Offline Files.

Install it like an app

ArchiveView is now installable on phones and tablets — browser menu → Add to Home Screen (or Install app). It opens full-screen like a native app and loads instantly even with no connection, because the app itself is stored on your device too. No app store, no updates to manage; it stays current automatically.

Field habits that make it bulletproof

• Open ArchiveView while you still have signal. If you're signed in when you walk into the dead zone, everything saved on the device is available. (If your session expires while offline, you'll need a connection to sign back in.)
• Save the set the night before a site visit — it takes a minute on Wi‑Fi and zero willpower.
• Tap "Keep my documents" in Offline Files the first time you save something. It asks your device to protect your saved files from automatic storage cleanup.

What works offline (and what doesn't)

Offline mode is built for the field's core need: viewing PDFs and image drawings. Search, uploads, annotations, comments, and CAD/DWG viewing still require a connection — those come back the moment you do.

Included in every plan

There's no add-on and no per-device fee — offline mode is part of ArchiveView on every plan, from Starter up. It's your drawings; a dead spot shouldn't stand between you and them.
